4th International Schools’ Golf Tournament
This year’s Tournament, played over four days from 8 to 11 August on the two Gary Player designed golf courses at Sun City, fielded 40 teams from the most competitive international and local teams to date.  All teams, comprising four scholars, played off scratch handicaps.  They played stableford format, playing betterball on the first two days and individual, with three scores to count for the team total, on the final two days.

The main objectives of the tournament are to raise the profile of golf at school level and to afford South African schools the opportunity of competing in an international arena.

The tournament was officially opened by Hugh Page who addressed the boys about the importance of sport and life as a professional sportsman.

When congratulating the winning team, Millfield, Somerset - UK, Tournament Director, Kevin Hawksworth commented that this year’s tournament was once again a resounding success, with an exceptionally high standard of golf.  He thanked Sun International for hosting the tournament on courses of a traditional high standard and expressed his appreciation for FNB Private Clients’ very generous sponsorship, without which it would be impossible to host a tournament at this phenomenal venue.

The top six finishes were:
1st: Millfield School, UK
